About the role
We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to help build, improve, and scale a pragmatic modern data platform. This role is ideal for someone who is hands-on, autonomous, and comfortable operating in an evolving environment where the need spans data engineering execution, transformation design, warehouse modeling, and platform maturity. This is not a narrowly scoped ETL role. We are looking for someone who can both deliver day-to-day engineering work and help improve the overall maturity of the data platform over time.
What you will do
● Build and maintain end-to-end data pipelines using a combination of ETL tools, APIs, file-based ingestion, and custom Python/SQL scripting
● Design and operate Airflow workflows, including scalable DAGs, dependency management, retries, and recovery patterns
● Develop and optimize transformation workflows using dbt and SQL-based ELT patterns
● Improve data warehouse structure, dimensional modeling, and overall analytics data design
● Strengthen pipeline reliability through better logging, monitoring, alerting, error handling, and operational runbooks
● Support ongoing business-driven feature requests while balancing long-term maintainability and engineering discipline
● Contribute to platform maturity over time, including standards, deployment patterns, and infrastructure-related decisions where relevant
What we are looking for
● 6+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering or closely related data platform roles
● Strong experience building and maintaining production-grade data pipelines
● Strong SQL skills and experience designing scalable transformation logic
● Strong Airflow experience in real production environments
● Experience with dbt and modern ELT workflows
● Experience moving data through a mix of tools, APIs, file-based ingestion, and custom scripting
● Good understanding of data warehouse design, dimensional modeling, and star schema concepts
● Ability to work independently, make sound technical decisions, and operate effectively with ambiguity
● Experience improving reliability, maintainability, and observability of production data systems.
