Job Description – Lead QA cum Project Manager (6–9 Years Experience)

1. Role Summary & Key Objectives

We are looking for a Lead QA cum Project Manager with 6–9 years of experience who can own end-to-end quality assurance while managing project delivery. This is a hybrid role requiring a balance of technical QA expertise, team leadership, stakeholder management, and project execution.
The ideal candidate will drive quality strategy, ensure timely delivery, manage risks, and act as a single point of contact between engineering, product, and business stakeholders.
Key Objective:
Ensure high-quality, on-time delivery of software projects by combining strong QA leadership with effective project management practices.

2. Core Responsibilities

1. QA Strategy & Leadership

Define and implement overall QA strategy, test plans, and quality standards.
Lead QA team in executing functional, regression, performance, and security testing.

2. Project Planning & Delivery Management

Create and manage project plans, timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and with high quality.

3. Team Management & Mentorship

Lead, mentor, and manage QA engineers and cross-functional teams.
Allocate tasks, track progress, and ensure team productivity.

4. Stakeholder Communication

Act as a primary point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders.
Provide regular status updates, risk assessments, and delivery reports.

5. Risk & Issue Management

Identify project risks, dependencies, and bottlenecks.
Proactively mitigate risks and resolve escalations.

6. Defect & Release Management

Oversee defect lifecycle management and ensure timely resolution.
Manage release cycles and go-live readiness.

7. Process Improvement & Governance

Implement QA best practices, Agile processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure adherence to SDLC, STLC, and project governance frameworks.

3. Must-Have Skills

Technical Skills

Strong experience in Manual Testing and QA processes (SDLC/STLC)
Good exposure to Automation Testing frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, etc.)
Experience in Performance Testing concepts and tools
Knowledge of Security Testing and basic Penetration Testing
Hands-on experience with test management and bug tracking tools (JIRA, Azure DevOps, TestRail)
Strong understanding of API testing (Postman, REST APIs)
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices

Project Management Skills

Experience in Agile/Scrum and/or Waterfall methodologies
Strong skills in project planning, estimation, and scheduling
Experience in resource allocation and capacity planning
Risk management and stakeholder communication expertise

Soft Skills

Strong leadership and team management skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder handling abilities
Strong analytical and decision-making skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

4. Good-to-Have Skills

Experience with project management tools (JIRA, MS Project, ClickUp)
Certifications such as PMP, Scrum Master (CSM/PSM), ISTQB
Experience in SaaS product-based environments
Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Exposure to DevOps tools and release pipelines
Understanding of microservices architecture

5. Experience Requirements

6–9 years of experience in QA with at least 2–3 years in a leadership or project management role
Proven experience in managing end-to-end software delivery lifecycle
Experience handling cross-functional teams and client interactions
Strong background in manual testing along with exposure to automation, performance, and security testing
Experience in Agile/Scrum environments
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / IT / Engineering or related field
